Nic knows there are some lines you can never cross – but when it comes to “little” Landon Pike, she kind of already has. She tries to stay away but when your world is falling apart, you can’t help but fall right along with it. Good thing Landon refuses to let her fall alone.

In life there are always lines we never allow ourselves to cross that’s no different for Twenty-four-year-old Nicole Fletcher aka (Nic) when it comes to never crossing that line with her best friend's younger brother Landon Pike, even though it would be an easy line to cross even whilst yelling in her head No No No, that line getting crossed is inevitable.

He knows I want him. I want him too. But it doesn’t really matter because he’s Aubrey’s brother. Her younger brother. And some lines you just never cross.

Nothing prepares you for the time when you have to say goodbye to a loved one, no deadline will ever prepare you, nothing will numb that inevitable pain that is going to hit you no matter how prepared you think you are going to be.

Nic wasn't prepared to say goodbye to Lorraine Fletcher who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was living out the last of her days at home under full time hospice care, Lorraine had been like a mother to Nic for nearly most of her life when her birth mother walked away from that responsibility never to be seen again.

It took a lot of perseverance on Landon's part to convince Nic that she should give them a go, I found him so mature for his age, in some places he came across a lot older than this character showed him to be.

This was a first time read for me by this author and I am so so glad she approached me to review this book because I absolutely loved it.
The only problem I did find with this was within the first chapter or so we learned that these two apparently had hooked up a year ago, in the ‘Prologue' I would’ve loved for that to be elaborated more, just to give us more background information on these two, because without that it kind of made it hard for me to connect with the story during the early stages, until I got further into it, it came into it's own and I found I was devouring the pages.
I cray cray loved Landon's character and I could totally relate to Nic's dilemma as when I met my partner (6 years younger) so I was able to connect with her character on a very personal level.
